WHIP! and DWF file format

As of 1996-Nov-24, WHIP!™ Plug-In Release 1 for Netscape Navigator 3.0 has become available. For Netscape 2.x, you should use the Beta 1 plug-in. Read the Autodesk WHIP! Plug-In page for up-to-date information.


WHIP! provides fast and most accurate way to exchange vector-based images over the Internet. DWF (Drawing Web Format) is a new, highly compressed file format established for viewing AutoCAD® drawings and other 2D vector files and sending them over the Internet. Designed to work together, the new WHIP! Plug-In for Netscape Navigator and the WHIP! Control for ActiveX (Microsoft Internet Explorer) and DWF let us efficiently communicate and collaborate over the Internet.

To use the Beta1 version of WHIP!, you'll need the following:

This Beta1 version is intended for demonstration purposes only. Both the WHIP! Plug-In and its companion .DWF file format are currently in development. As such, they are not yet supported or fully tested and may not run properly with all configurations.
