Japanese populer magaine for after five schools come to my office to interview me.
In SteelPan Lab Curepe, you could have Steel Pan lessons.
I will teach you man to man. If you are beginner about music, I will teach you what you need.
When you get some tunes, you also get techniques to play pan and music theories.
1. beginer's class
(using Single Tenor Pan)
I ask each students come to this class first, to get basic method and techniques of the pan and music. This lesson begins from easy things. After few monthes, you will find that you can do anything. I mean, if you find your way to play, you can play the pans by yourself at the time.

I teach you man to man, you will get plenty things after fun of playing sweet sound of pan.
You don't have to have music experience, or knowledge. Old, young, man, or women, anyone can join us.

2. regular class
(using Single Tenor Pan)
When you finish "buiginer's" and you want to have more tunes, more knowledge, more techniques, come to "regular class". Popular song, Latin, and Calypso, Soca from Trinidad. you have plenty tunes to learn. Not only playing melodies, you will learn playing the chords. You will understand Rhythms and harmonies much more.

3. advanced class
(using Single Tenor Pan)
If you want be a solo player, we invite you to "advanced class". We will teach you arranging the melodies, rhythms, harmonies, and chords. Also solo playing or technique to play with only one pan. We want you independent after this class.
We teach you man to man. We take time in plenty to think and plactice enough.

4. specialized class
You can learn the other pans than the Single Tenor Pan. You should finish the Buiginer's class, when you come to this class.
Now, we have Double Second Class, and Double Guitar Class. If you want Quadro, Cello, and Basses, tell us about it. We teach you man to man.

5. group lesson class
After finishing the Buiginer's class, you can come to this class. You will get the groove of the Soca and Calypso beat with playing pan in the ensemble. How melodies and Harmonies matched, how about rhythm, and think about other player, these are you also learn.

Steel pan was born in Repubric of Trinidad and Tobago, in Caribbean Sea. Still now, this country is most exiting place of the pan. In Carnival time, many steel bands, each band has 50-100 players, play to win the competitions.

I, Susumu Muraji, went to Trinidad Island to play with Trinidadian band. And get real Trinidadian Groove. I went there 5 times and stayed over 200 days.

I will teach you Calypso, Soca, Pops and other latin tunes directly. You don't have to have knowledge about music. We don't have less poeple who have experience to play pans, So I try to make students enjoy the music and play pan.

I play some phrase first, then you play same one. When you got the melody, I play next. This is my way to teach how to play pan, that is Trinidadian teach me. No use music sheets, You don't have to have knowledge of Music Theory.
After half year, you will be surprised with finding that you've gotten some Music Theories, Harmonics, Rhythms and Scales, naturally. Ofcause, you will get technique to play pan.

It counted 7years, from I started teaching pans. I want give you back somthing that I have gotten from the students, like " easy way to remember the melodies", "easy way to understand how notes go on in the pan", and much more.

from [SAKURA-GAWA] station of Osaka subway SEN-NICHIMAE line,
take the [EXIT 1], go NORTH, and turn LEFT at the second trafic lights(MInami Horie 3),
you will find Cafe MILLO and MILLO HALL on the north side on the road, after walk 50meters.
It will takes about 3 minutes from the station.

We have practice there only Wednesday.
