I got an entirely new PC on last Sunday . Since then I've tried to install
Windows98JPN into it. The installation seemed to work perfectly at first.
But after a few minutes running , it suddenly got shut down without any
kind of trigger. I regretted very much that I had not learned much about PC
so far. Then I emailed one of my most reliable friend in Japan to get some help
after all. And he responded quickly and let me know what was wrong.
It should be fixed well after we get back from NYC on this weekend.

As the PC was equipped with a DVD drive , we became to be able to watch movies
through DVD medias. And in order to know a quality of DVD as a media,
we have gotten a couple of movies. One was "STAR TREK first contact"
and the other was "6 DAYs 7 NIGHTs". In fact I had wanted to watch "6 DAYs 7 NIGHTs"
but somehow it had been not available on VHS at a nearby rental video shop.
And fortunately I found the one on DVD at the same shop and rented it.
Despite smaller size of the PC monitor than our ordinary TV , the DVD provided us
terrific quality of vision and sound and impressed enough my wife who had complained
of the size of the monitor. The other advantage of DVD is that you can look at subtitles
even when you stop running a movie. In the case of normal VHS , subtitles may disappear
if you push the pause button on a video player. And normally subtitles flow away so quickly
that it's impossible to know what they exactly say. But with using DVD you can read each
sentences for as long time as you want. This should be the great weapon to study English ,
I believe.
